Originally, I first heard about CU Denver when I did an Auditing class during my undergrad with a professor at Assumption University who is also an alumni of CU Denver Business School. He shared his valuable experience with the school and his life in Denver which inspired me to come here. After I decided to go back to school, I looked at options for an AACSB-accredited graduate business school and for a degree program that I could finish within a year. Family members, no matter how far they are from their home, make their best effort to come together and celebrate this auspicious full moon time of abundance and luck. On a crisp, sunny autumn day, the Office of International Affairs at the University of Colorado Denver led more than 50 international students on an excursion to one of America’s most spectacular recreational areas, Rocky Mountain National Park. International Students Excel in ESL Academy Level 5

During the last week of September, fourteen international students at the University of Colorado Denver’s ESL Academy presented commendable research presentations on topics ranging from cloud computing to music therapy to causes of oil fluctuation worldwide to solving the effects of acid rain on the environment. The students, who came from diverse global regions, were able to develop presentations specific to their chosen major and gain a deeper look into their career field.

Best friends Claudia Pando and Courtney Scott met during the second week of their freshman year at the University of Colorado Denver. A friendly conversation, started over pizza, quickly turned to their shared passion for Chinese language and culture, and interest in CU Denver’s Semester in Beijing program. “I’m not sure who brought up the program up first, but afterwards we could not stop talking about it!” said Pando. The two made a decision to participate in the program together, sparking the beginning of a meaningful friendship and a great adventure.

Betty Pearson is a trailblazer. As a first-generation, legally blind, 66-year-old undergraduate, she has been faced with many challenges, but she has never let that stop her. So, after 40 years as a working mom, Pearson returned to school as a student in CU Denver’s College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.
