Scholarship Program Opens Doors for STEM Studies
Through the respected Brazil Scientific Mobility Program (BSMP), a scholarship program funded by the Brazilian government and administered by the Institute of International Education (IIE), exceptional students are entering spring classes at the ESL Academy. Their areas of study in Brazil are civil engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science, architecture, and pharmacy.
Presidential Scholar Award Goes To Two Outstanding International Students
The Presidential Scholar Award was developed by former University of Colorado Denver President Hank Brown to identify and recognize outstanding students in the freshman class. Award recipients receive $2,500 USD toward tuition that recurs for eight (8) semesters, totaling $20,000 USD. They must maintain a 3.2/4.0 GPA. The University of Colorado Denver aspires to recruit academically talented international students from diverse geographic regions who will contribute to the university community; the Presidential Scholar Award helps to make this goal a reality.
Latin American Student Finds Great Educational Resources at University of Colorado Denver
Immersion in a quality English language program and immersion in a top-ranked business school and thriving business community formed the perfect combination for Brazilian student Gabrielle Mattioda. Mattioda, one of the first students in class on the opening day of the University of Colorado Denver ESL Academy, is pursuing her MBA in the university’s Business School and enjoying life in Colorado.
The University of Colorado Denver’s downtown campus graduate division has received an all-time record number of more than 1,000 international student applications for Fall 2013 admission. Offers of admission and overall enrollment trends are also increasing.
CU Denver ESL Academy Students Further Education at Denver Art Museum
The bold modern design of the Denver Art Museum’s (DAM) Hamilton Building, which includes innovative features such as 9,000 titanium panels to reflect Colorado’s 300 days of sunshine, provides a perfect example of contemporary architecture. It also provided an ideal setting for 25 international students from the University of Colorado Denver’s ESL Academy to refine their English language and listening skills and to deepen their understanding about the field of architecture.
