He is now being joined at the university by other fellow students from Kuwait following the recent announcement by the Kuwait Cultural Office – Los Angeles that the University of Colorado Denver is a fully approved university recognized by the government of the State of Kuwait.

A delegation of distinguished international visitors toured the University of Colorado Denver’s ESL Academy and Business School on February 16 to engage in lively rounds of questions and answers about industry-education innovation incubators, potential international educational partnerships, customized English language instruction, and many other topics. The guests included leadership from international universities and government agencies representing India, Vietnam, Brazil, Colombia, Philippines, Bangladesh, South Africa, Ghana, and Mexico. Hosted by StudyColorado, a program under the Colorado Department of Higher Education, the group was part of a U.S. Department of State EducationUSA Leadership Institute, designed to explore opportunities for capacity building and international industry-education collaboration.
Latin American High School Students Learn About CU Denver
The winter season was in full force throughout the United States, but it was a classically sunny day in Denver, Colorado, when 10 Brazilian students were welcomed for a tour and reception at the ESL Academy, University of Colorado Denver. The high school students had arrived from the state of Espirito Santo Brazil courtesy of U.S.- Brazil Connect, an organization that fosters educational connections between the two countries.
ISSS Hosts Festive December Event
Conversations and congratulations flowed freely at this year’s December Semester Celebration for international students hosted by International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS). Students from countries throughout the world were acknowledged for their accomplishments at the University of Colorado Denver by ISSS staff and academic advisors from the Business School, College of Engineering and Applied Science, and College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.

International Student Welcome Party
Students from countries as far away as India, China, Kyrgystan, Saudi Arabia, Finland, and Japan joined University of Colorado Denver faculty and staff to celebrate the start of a new school year at the Fall 2014 International Student & Scholar (ISSS) Welcome Party on September 4, hosted by International Student & Scholar Services, Office of International Affairs.

Quoting British mathematician and philosopher Alfred North Whitehead, the Brazilian student took the microphone and spoke enthusiastically about knowledge gained and the value of others’ help in attaining success. The mood was celebratory, the setting was a festive luncheon event in honor of the BSMP (Brazil Scientific Mobility Program) Level 5 graduates of the ESL Academy; the day was a perfect, blue-sky Colorado Friday on August 15.
Learning About Smart Homes, Assistive Technologies, Robotics & Health Telematics
Through a collaboration between the Department of Bioengineering and the Office of International Affairs, University of Colorado Denver, five outstanding international students served as volunteer helpers and attended the 12th Annual International Conference on Smart Homes, Health Telematics, and Assistive Technology (ICOST) this summer. For eleven years, ICOST has been held in countries around the world – France (2003), Singapore (2004), Canada (2005), Northern Ireland (2006), Japan (2007), the United States (2008), France (2009), Korea (2010), Canada (2011), Italy (2012), and Singapore (2013; this was the first time that it has been held in Denver, Colorado.
